FAQs

  • I am not in-network with insurance companies. I provide superbills that you can submit to your insurance for out-of-network reimbursement. I recommend contacting your insurance provider to determine your plan’s behavioral health coverage for therapy, psychological and neuropsychological evaluation services.

  • Clinical services are offered in-office (Upper West Side or Downtown Manhattan) or via telehealth for families residing in New York State. When clinically appropriate, school- and home-based services within Manhattan may also be available.

  • Yes — I’ve walked this road with many families. Feeling overwhelmed is completely normal. There are so many systems, services, approaches, and acronyms to navigate after an autism diagnosis, and it can be hard to know where to begin.

I’m here to help. Contact me to schedule a brief video call so we can discuss how I can support you in navigating this next chapter with clarity and confidence.

  • No — a high-quality autism evaluation is never limited to assessing for autism alone. In order to thoroughly understand your child’s profile, it’s essential to also evaluate for co-occurring and/or alternative diagnoses, such as ADHD, language disorders, anxiety, depression, and behavioral or conduct challenges.

What an autism evaluation provides is a comprehensive, gold-standard assessment of autism-related symptoms, along with consideration of other possible conditions that may also contribute to social, communication, or behavioral challenges. The goal is to ensure that your child receives an accurate diagnosis and a tailored plan to support their development and well-being.

  • In some cases, in-home or school-based observations are an important part of an evaluation, intervention program, or consultation process. These services are discussed on a case-by-case basis and must be clinically appropriate for the child. All school-based services require written consent and coordination with school staff.

  • Absolutely. With your written permission, I will coordinate care with other professionals including pediatricians, psychiatrists, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, educators, and ABA providers. This integrated approach supports comprehensive and consistent care.

  • Yes. I provide therapy services for adults with autism and other developmental or neurodevelopmental disabilities, including intellectual disability. I also offer comprehensive autism evaluations for adults who are seeking diagnostic clarity or support.

  • Yes — it’s very common for adults with autism and other neurodevelopmental differences to face challenges as they transition into adulthood. Many young adults find it difficult to translate their strengths into daily life skills, especially when it comes to living independently, maintaining employment, or building meaningful relationships.

If your adult child is open to starting therapy, I’d be happy to help. I’ve worked with many young adults navigating this stage of life and can provide support around building executive functioning, social-emotional awareness, and adaptive skills needed for greater independence and confidence in adulthood.

  • Yes! I’m happy to provide consultation and second opinions on your child’s existing service plan. This can be especially helpful if you’re looking to ensure the current approach is comprehensive, developmentally appropriate, and aligned with your child’s evolving needs.

To begin, I would ask you to share any prior evaluations, school records, and treatment reports for review. After I’ve had a chance to carefully go through these materials, we would schedule a consultation session to discuss your child’s progress and for me to offer feedback and recommendations on how to strengthen or adjust the current plan if needed.

  • While autism is a major part of my work, my expertise is in neurodevelopmental conditions more broadly — meaning I support individuals whose brains are wired to process and experience the world a little differently. Along with autism, I have extensive experience in the evaluation and treatment of ADHD, language and communication disorders, global developmental delay, intellectual disability, and learning disorders.

I also understand that individuals with neurodevelopmental differences are often more vulnerable to developing related challenges like anxiety, depression, or behavioral difficulties. I am especially skilled in supporting these co-occurring needs, always tailoring intervention in a way that respects and builds on the individual's unique developmental profile.

  • The length of therapy varies widely depending on each individual’s needs. My goal is always to help clients build the skills they need to eventually navigate challenges independently. Because neurodevelopmental conditions are lifelong, many clients stay connected to therapy longer than others — sometimes regularly, sometimes with periodic check-ins during major life transitions like puberty or adulthood. We tailor the process together, adjusting the frequency and structure based on what feels most supportive.

  • 24 hours' notice is requested for all cancellations. Late cancellations or no-shows will be billed at the full session rate. For evaluation appointments, a separate cancellation policy will be outlined in your service agreement.

  • To begin, please complete the contact form or email me directly. I will schedule a brief video consultation to understand your needs and determine the best fit. If appropriate, we’ll proceed with intake forms, consents, and scheduling the first appointment.
